2016 WORLD AIDS DAY SYMPOSIUM

Biennial Exploring Realistic Expectations: Emerging Strategies for HIV and Viral Hepatitis Co-Infection Symposium

Empowerment Resource Center will sponsor its biennial capacity building series, Exploring Realistic Expectations: Emerging Strategies for HIV and Viral Hepatitis Co-Infection, as an integral part of our World AIDS Day Campaign on December 1-2, 2016. The symposium will be held at the Loudermilk Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia.  The symposium will feature an impressive keynote session by Dr. Carlos del Rio, Hubert Professor and Chair of the Department of Global Health at the Rollins School of Public Health and Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Emory University School of Medicine.  As a part of our capacity building program component, the symposium will target heterogeneous groups of providers, such as health educators, counselors, social workers, nurses, and physicians in efforts to bolster additional tools in the arsenal to reduce HIV/AIDS and Viral Hepatitis transmission and contraction.

The Exploring Realistic Expectations symposium is presented by Empowerment Resource Center. Fulton County Department of Public Health and Wellness and Georgia Department of Public Health are supporting the symposium as Silver Sponsors.   Morehouse School of Medicine, AIDS Education & Training Center Program and Emory University are supporting sponsors. This symposium is open to all medical and allied public health professionals, as well as residents, fellows, and students.  Interested participants may register online at http://2016expectations.eventbrite.com or contact Lydie Marc at (404) 526-1145 ext. 106 or lmarc@ERC-Inc.org.
