VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

 

Looking for a fun and rewarding activity?  Come volunteer with us!  There's always room for another helping hand at ERC!  ERC volunteers support our fundraising efforts, daily operations, clinical services, and various community outreach events. As our service model expands and our client base continues to grow, we are faced with new challenges.  However, our volunteers lead the way in providing mission critical support.  The number of volunteer opportunities offered each year may vary and are based on capacity and agency need.  We welcome all inquiries.

  1. Review the Program Overview and Volunteer Descriptions below.
  2. Complete a Volunteer Application form.  To submit, email us at volunteer@ERC-Inc.org.
  3. Volunteer interviews and/or orientations will be scheduled by the Volunteer Coordinator and held at our office. 
  4. Requests for Internships and Practicum assignments will also be considered.  Click here to review current requirements. 
  5. Submit an Image Consent form. 
  6. Volunteer determinations and/or assignments will be made within 14 days.

Description

The ERC office is always bustling with activity!! Volunteers will perform a variety of tasks depending on project deadlines, including but not limited to answering phones and other administrative tasks. This position helps to extend the resources in ERC to better assist and direct the needs of our clients.

Technical Skills

Technical Skills: Volunteers must possess a genuine empathy for clients and a willingness to help others; demonstrate excellent presentation skills in the delivery of health education materials and instructions to clients; and have excellent writing, verbal and computer skills related to preparing reports, articles, and materials development.

Description

ERC is seeking an individual who can assist in the provision of HIV and STI testing services, health education and health literacy, risk reduction counseling, capacity building, client advocacy, and supportive services in the Comprehensive Intervention Clinic.. Typical volunteer activities include day-to-day clinical and non-clinical operations, maintaining records, conducting field studies and community outreach activities, program evaluation, and client interviewing. Other duties as assigned.

Description

ERC is seeking an individual who can assist in data collection, analysis and evaluation for ERC’s programs and services. The Research Assistant will work closely with the Research Analyst to conduct and analyze data relative to research in specialty areas. Typical volunteer activities include entering required variables into EvaluationWeb, recommend technology-based solutions, and analyze large datasets for clinical or basic programmatic and research purposes. Other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills

Volunteers must have a strong background in researching issues and resources, record-keeping and organizational skills; be able to pay close attention to details and exhibit sound analytical thinking, problem solving and execution skills; and have excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.

Description

ERC is seeking an individual who can assist in the recruitment and enrollment of high risk clients at external events, community health fairs and outreach settings. Typical volunteer activities include conducting data collection, administration of HIV testing and risk reduction counseling, client satisfaction surveys and entering required variables into EvaluationWeb. Other duties as assigned.

ERC offers college work study opportunities for students who attend fully-accredited colleges and universities. Work study students are considered volunteers, but must also be approved through our Human Resources department to meet federal requirements.
