Volunteers are the heart of the Empowerment Resource Center. As a non-profit, ERC depends on the help of extraordinary volunteers and interns to continue our mission to improve the health related quality of life for those we are privileged to serve.
Our volunteer opportunities may include, but is not limited to:
Clinical Support
Behavioral Health Groups
Screenings
Since 2003, ERC has provided health-related programs and services for those with and without health insurance, little or no income and those experiencing homelessness. Join us and help provide exceptional care to those most in need.
Medical Professionals
We are calling all physicians and licensed mental health specialists! When you serve your community through ERC, you make an inestimable contribution while expanding your professional skills through a diverse patient population and environment.
College Work Study/Internships/Practicums
ERC strives to attract a diverse group of qualified students to join our team. Interested students should submit their cover letter and resume to Sherrie Powell at spowell@ERC-Inc.org.
Court-Ordered Community Services
Court-ordered community service credit is available for these offenses: DUI, Speeding Tickets, Loitering, Reckless Driving, and other misdemeanors (at ERC’s discretion). Violent offenses including battery, assault, or animal cruelty are not eligible for community service credit with ERC. All individuals who have been court-ordered to perform community service MUST get pre-approved by filling out a Court-Ordered Community Service Request Form (below). If you do not get pre-approved before volunteering, you will not be able to count your service hours towards your court-mandated hours.
Contact Sherrie Powell at spowell@ERC-Inc.org for more information about these volunteer opportunities.
ERC is always looking for individuals who want to help our community and have fun at the same time! More than 100 volunteers are needed each year to help make the Take Charge. Get Tested.™ event a success. We are in need of volunteers to assist with various aspects of the day, including manning registration and refreshment tables, directing participants to the various health screenings, and general floaters. This is a large scale event that will provide critical preventative health screenings to our community who might otherwise lack access to such services.
